Why we route every file through attorney review

Why we won’t skip legal review, even when the claimant is in a hurry.

Surplus-funds claims look simple from the outside. They are not. State law dictates who can claim, in what order, on what proof, within what window, and through what filing.

A well-meaning research company filing claims directly can produce orders that are later vacated, or worse — cause real harm to claimants who relied on bad guidance.

We don’t move a file forward without an attorney reviewing it. Not because we have to, but because that’s where the actual legal judgment lives.

Halos Over Houses is not a law firm. Nothing in this article is legal advice. You may always contact your county directly at no cost.
